CSI Helps Launch Free Earthquake Engineering Periodical For Developing Countries

The National Information Centre of Earthquake Engineering (NICEE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur recently launched a new periodical, Earthquake Engineering Practice. The publication, made possible by major financial contributions from Computers & Structures, Inc. and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, is intended to bring current research in earthquake engineering to engineers in developing countries—free of charge—with the goal of mitigating earthquake disasters.

The periodical consists of previously published articles of wide interest to professionals, academics and researchers, obtained from the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (www.eeri.org) and New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering, Inc., New Zealand (www.nzsee.org.nz). By making cutting-edge research articles available to individuals free of charge, and to libraries and organization for a nominal fee, Earthquake Engineering Practice is helping to disseminate invaluable information to engineers throughout the world and, in turn, is preserving the lives of millions of people.
